CareOxi HandyVac Exudate Collection Container / Canister

It is the collection container from which the exudate from the wound is collected for wound care devices. It contains a thickening gel. Made of polycarbonate material, unbreakable, prevents odor.

"Exudate container" or "exudate management container", Canister, is a medical product that allows the collection and removal of fluids (exudate) from the wound surface. Exudate is fluid that forms and accumulates on the wound surface as part of the wound healing process. The Exudate container is used to support wound healing in a clean and moist environment and reduce the risk of infection.

The main purposes of the Canister / Collection Container / Exudate Container are:

  1. Collecting Exudate: By collecting the fluid coming from the wound surface, it prevents the skin around the wound from drying out and keeps the wound surface clean.
  2. Maintaining Moisture Balance in the Wound: It helps the wound maintain the appropriate moisture level. Excess moisture or dryness can negatively affect the healing process.
  3. Reducing the Risk of Infection: Exudate can facilitate the entry of bacteria and microorganisms into the wound. The Exudate container protects the wound surface against the risk of infection.
  4. Supporting Wound Healing: It accelerates wound healing in a clean and moist environment. It has a positive effect on the cellular renewal process.

Using the CareOxi HandyVac Collection container generally follows these steps:

  1. The wound surface is cleaned and disinfected if necessary.
  2. Canister is placed on the back of the CareOxi HandyVac device.
  3. The exudate coming into the container is collected thanks to the special design of the container, and the exudate is solidified by means of gel.
  4. The leak-proof structure of the Exudate container prevents liquid from leaking out.
  5. Canister needs to be replaced regularly when full.
  6. During canister replacement, the wound surface is cleaned again and necessary dressing procedures are performed.
  7. CareOxi Canister is used with the HandyVac NPWT wound treatment device. However, its use and replacement should be planned appropriately according to the characteristics of the patient and the wound. The guidance of an appropriate healthcare professional will ensure effective and safe use of the exudate container.
